Nobizib is a specialty restaurant featuring Galbi (marinated and grilled beef ribs). A combination of the restaurant’s own special sauce, pure bronze gridiron, and oak tree charcoal creates a unique taste beloved by visitors and locals alike. The spicy galbi jjim (braised beef ribs) is another restaurant specialty.
Located at the entrance of Myeongdong, Nobizib is easily accessible via public transportation and is frequented by Japanese tourists (thanks to the restaurant’s exposure in tour guidebooks and magazines in Japan).
This is a great little, traditional Korean BBQ just off the main drag in Myeongdong. The lovely ladies are on hand to present some wonderful meats and side dishes and the beer and Shochu goes down too well.
The first thing to happen is an insulated cauldron, filled with glowing charcoal, is dropped into a hole in your table and an ingenious chimney pipe is lowered over it to extract any smoke. Then a metal grill goes on top and the meat arrives. This looks like a long piece of flank steak, still attached at one end to the bone. It's rolled up when it arrives but the ladies unfurl it and it starts to cook. Having been marinated in soy, it smell fantastic and after a few minutes it's being cut up with meat scissors and ready to eat, straight off the griddle.
It's a wonderful adventure and a lot of fun.
